Hi,

If you go back in the IBMMAIN logs you will see that most of your fears are
not really a big issue at all based on previous comments I have made on this
general subject. There are no catalog changes that preclude you from
converting to 1.11 from 1.6 nor are there any to keep you from falling back.
I have literally performed over 100 of these "non supported" conversions
(from many releases much further back than 1.6) and there are actually VERY
few things that you have to worry about and most of them are SYSPLEX related
and may not even apply to you at all. As a matter of fact, I just finished
a 1.6 to 1.10 conversion 3 weeks ago, and I have two clients that are
waiting for the 1.11 system to be made available for them, one is 1.4 and
the other is OS/390 2.9. The OS/390 one is a bit special because it also
includes a simultaneous Hardware migration.

If you want contact me offline I can go over things you might want to watch
out for, but there really isn't very much that "most" sites have to worry
about for 1.6 to 1.11.

Brian
