IMHO the root problem was using email for data exchange in the first place.
I hear this tired old issue time and time again where someone invents a quick and dirty solution using some labor intensive process. In this case, data exchange using email. Many of us learned the hard way that email is just not suitable, for that matter, any process that depends on human intervention. So, go after the root problem and delete email from the process. Unless, of course, you are a competitor :-) My $0.02 -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Walter Marguccio Sent: Friday, January 22, 2010 8:05 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Receive e-mails on z/OS Right now the first steps of the affected jobs are FTP steps which retrieve the data from the company's file server. I've been asked to see whether we can avoid the manual steps involved in receiving the e-mail and place its attachment onto the file server, going from Lotus to z/OS directly.
