Lizette, Sorry for the long delay in answering your question. The gdg base is being held by the STC CMN2STAR. I waited for the STC to shutdown and I was able to move the dsn. Of late, when I make a post it doesn't appear right away. There could be a problem with my Yahoo account. Thanks.

In z/OS the BASE is typically used for the enq and not the specific GDG number. Use the base name in the D GRS command instead.
