Hi listners,
Contuning my saga about z/os.e and z10 BC, we tried to IPL it before
install psp and get following message:
IFA200W LICENSE=z/OSe WAS SPECIFIED BUT IS NOT ALLOWED.
This message says that z/os.e runs only in z800 and z890 machines and
Lpars needs to have an specific name zosexxxx.
Checking google about z/os.e and z10 BC we found a Share presentation
dated from 2007 that says something about z/os.e 1.7
and 1.8 and z9 BC. It says in one step of migration following statement:
If you currently run z/os.e 1.7 or 1.8 and want to run same level, but
with z/os zNalc pricing do the following:
a - Get your z/os license with zNalc pricing. Ensure to have same
priced features in new z/nalc license as you have in z/os.e.
b - Shutdown your z/os.e system
c - Modify the z/os.e customization as follows:
c1 - In parmlib member IFAPRDxx convert all the enabled
z/OS.e statements for ID 5655-G52 to z/OS statments for ID 5694-A01
This shows to me (I´m a fresh new guy in z/os world) that binaries for
z/os 1.8 and z/os.e 1.8 are same, and functions are enabled
or disabled by changing product ID from 5655-G52 to 5694-A01. So, I can
conclude that PSP upgrade zosv1r8 could be applied to
z/os.e 1.8. In other words, there are no specific psp for z/os.e 1.8.
I´m correct?
Thanks in advance for any comment about.
