I have migrated z/OS.e at 1.8 to z/OS 1.10 and 1.11 on a z/10 already on several sites. I have not had the opportunity to try to go to 1.12, but I don't foresee any problems in the conversion either. None of them stayed at z/OS.e for an extended period of time, but then it only takes between 2 to 3 months to complete the entire conversion in the first place if you plan things correctly (including ordering the OS). Obviously there are some things you "shouldn't" do, especially if you are running a parallel sysplex, but for the "average" site, most of the restrictions don't apply.
