I think that Shai might want to consider a user group in Yahoo or Google.
Not only could the technical merits be discussed but users could discuss their usage/problems with other users and benefit from mutual MFNet discussions.

Nevertheless, as I see it, the purpose of "forbidding" ads has the purpose to minimize "clutter/spam" in the list - for the benefit of the members.
And maybe also to minimize confusion of newbie's.

In practice I have never been irritated (or confused) by the eventual ads at this forum, they have been relatively very few.

Someone said that he fears that the list would be cluttered by technical questions and answers for products. Does that also e g include Yeager's answers to DFSORT questions ? Or is IBM as a software vendor excluded in this matter ?
