I originally wrote a JCL expander over 15 years ago! That was another employer alas and I've reinvented that wheel again. By expand JCL I mean handle symbolics, embed EXEC/INCLUDE PROCs even embed sysins with symbols handled. I found then that a pretty good database was simply a pds with all the jobs expanded and then use a search tool. That will be first pass at this this time around. OTOH, I've already written the code to correctly parse JCL keywords, sub parameters and quotes. So, it should be easy to extract specific keywords such as DSN and build into a database.
