"Kraal" may not be used anymore, but our western USA English word "corral" certainly is. If it's not a derivative, it is certainly a cognate.

Yes, I indeed think the same of Dutch. ;-D Actually there is a dictionary available which describes words with same spelling in Afrikaans and Dutch, but they have different meaning, usually offensive if you use that word in the 'wrong' language, causing gross misunderstanding and perhaps a blue eye or two. :-D :-D :-D Ok, I'm outta this thread.
