Ginnie, I do not know of a way to do this without doing what I would consider abnormal things with the SMS ACDS configuration.
I still do not understand *WHY* you are trying to this by "management class". Are there specific "datasets" you are trying to handle separately? Maybe if you explained *explicitly* what you are trying to do, we may be able to devise a solution, albeit, one outside of normal HSM autobackup control.
