A connection is established when a FIND/BLDL (w/o NOCONNECT) is successful for a member. Another FIND/BLDL for the same member disconnects the old copy and connects the new. A CLOSE disconnects all.

This functionality allows PDSE to emulate the behavior of PDS. If you FIND/BLDL a member in a PDS, that same member name can be STOWed again, even by another job/task, at a new location in the library, but any existing FIND/BLDL will continue to reference the member at its original location.
