Status display of one of the volumes: 

System/Sys      SMS Vol    MVS Vol         SMS SG

Group Name      Status        Status         Status

----------             -------          --------            ------

BCSP               DISNEW  OFFLINE        ENABLE

 

Normally SMS VOL status would be ENABLE but we changed it today, and are
trying to move all the data off these volumes.

There are no RACF exits in play.

Is it possible that the volume status is DISALL or NOTCON? But I don't

know why a user with OPERATIONS or UAUDIT could access the datasets.

 

Is it possible that you have some sort of user exit that does a RACF

check, say using the disk's volser and a class of DASDVOL to make some

sort of determination for access?
