I don't think MAXDUMPTASKS is completely ignored. Even with a relatively small STACK value, I've never had *more* than MAXDUMPTASKS running simultaneously. Could it be that you observed a situation in which *fewer* than MAXDUMPTASKS were started because of a huge STACK value and a small number of volumes to be dumped?
