>z/OS for only $126/month (even if it's a .e), not too bad. BTW how much >does the hardware cost ? Probably more than a single family home !
Depends on where that single family home is, but the median price of a single family home in most parts of the U.S. is going to be substantially higher than a z800 on the secondary market. Anybody know what a z800 runs these days? IBM said the new System z9 BC Model A01 starts at "about $100,000" (U.S. price) as another data point. That's the current model. Add storage, of course. - - - - - Timothy Sipples IBM Consulting Enterprise Software Architect Specializing in Software Architectures Related to System z Based in Tokyo, Serving IBM Japan and IBM Asia-Pacific E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
