Been going on for years. Remember Sharp APL? Did a nasty STC into a following branch instruction and blew the pipeline to smithereens on the old NAS AS/9000 series. Happened in a tight and frequently used loop. Of course, code alteration is several times worse than simple non-reentrancy. There ought to be a coding lab on Elba.
