It makes life easy since it will take care of all the adminstrative hustle of the migration, it copies all the TMC info to the new tape and handles multi-volume, multifile, multivolume/multifile tapes perfectly. You give it a number of input tapes and enough time and you can watch the migration while leaning back in your chair.
