I agree that a physical book is easier to learn from. PDF's or HTML's or Bookmanager's (especially Bookmanagers) are good for quick searching but for a longer session I prefer to lean back and turn pages. The information seems to stay in the brain longer. Just one mans opinion.
I think part of the reason there are more posts of this type is that some places aren't paying for the levels of support to the ISV's to allow them to call with how-to questions OR some people just fell uncomfortable talking to people about these issues and prefer the "anonymity" of email. I have at times posted questions asking "how" but only after the other avenues have been used. The large IBM-Main community is a valuable resource.
