I also ran across something called a CP... So I would have to write all the 3270 stuff myself, or I would use PUTLINE?
As a follow-up, if (hypothetically) I write my own TSO full screen program, do I get the WLM transaction boundaries automatically just because I'm running in TSO, or do I have to write them specifically? In other words, as in QMF, does hitting PF2 to run a query cause a start transaction and then end transaction when the data comes back and the terminal is unlocked? Don't forget that you don't need to run it from the TSO ISPF interface (which also requires GDDM) and there is also the CICS interface but you can have it on your workstation as an Eclipse based application or as a browser based application via Websphere.
