There are many components which reside in PDS and need to be transmitted
to PC side as "setup.exe":
OSA/SF (java version and older windows native)
HCM
RMF PM
RMF SR
ISPF "workstation client"
AFP browser
AFP driver
BTW: About 1-2 years ago, before IBM bought Consul, there was a product
called TSA (Tivoli Security Administrator). Besides PC part, similar
"setup.exe" was done on z/OS side (in unix). So, SMP/E was to put large
"setup.exe" file to HFS and then the installation was continued out of
SMP/E control.
Question: why bother with SMP/E in such case ?
