The 3390 restorable part of z/VM spans 14 tapes. There's lots of ancillary stuff (service, additional products and such) shipped with the tape order so you actually get several more tapes.

When you order on DVD, two DVDs are typically shipped. The product itself, and a service DVD.

Thanks for the clarification.
I think I have heard of people on here doing a *LARGE* receive on here but to order an *ENTIRE* OS boggles my mind. I have not done a VM installation in 20++ years so I don't have any idea how big it would be. The last MVS order I saw was approximately 18 3480 tapes. I wouldn't think (but I am obviously wrong) that a checksum could be that large to hold the amount of data. I am somewhat curious as to how many tapes a Z/vm order is, anyone?
