If I understand zIIP processing correctly any work that is run as an enclave on z/OS is zIIPeligible. However, the work then has to be made zIIPenabled by the subsystem that created the enclave. That's where the API comes into play. Even DB2 doesn't enable all its zIIPeligible work. Here is a write up on it in the IBM Journal of Research and Development.
