IIRC after a POR and before any IPL we had to reestablish the ICC connection from PCOMM.

But the old 3270 is defined higher in the order, so I expect the old 3270 would probably pick up the NIP messages. I'm planning on powering that down next week, so NIP will begin to use the PC console. I haven't had any problems with them through IPL sequences either. But the POR definitely had an effect. I would expect an extended IPL might have an effect too if the console sessions were to timeout.
