If they have a list of companies -not- using the feature, then one could easily
infer that everyone else is either not using anything or the IBM feature.

Also consider it is a little tough to do PIN stuff without such. Further, it
follows that every institution that is not on the list and does PIN stuff must
be using -something-. Wonder what?

Further yet, enciphering/deciphering is CPU intensive. Using the hardware makes
a rather good business case.

Finally, of course you are a 'mainframe bigot'. You are diligent and keep up
with the latest in such issues. You hear of major breaches almost on a weekly
basis (Monster.com just in the last several days). And the havoc the British
are seeing with the Downandup. What pragmatic, open minded, knowledgeable
person wouldn't be?

HTH and good luck

For me ? Yes. But I don't need to convince myself. My opinion "must be
biased, because I'm mainframe bigot". And last, but not least: they have
a list of companies *not using* IBM cryptography.
This is political issue, non technical. However still mainframe-related,
that's why I dared to bother the IBM-MAIN list.
