And it depends on what you mean by "running". Will it IPL? Will it perform the correct way? etc. Since so many of the PTFs involve HIPERDISPATCH, which can't be enabled on z/VM AFAIK (yet?), my best guess is you would be okay for your DR. However, since DR is (or should be) critical to your business, if it were me, I'd be making plans to install all the maintenance if I knew I could be running on a z10 at DR.
