John, In a previous life I was in a similar position, getting a new processor (at the time it was a z800 or z890, so it's been a while). I was told that even under z/VM z/OS is aware of the base hardware, so the PSP bucket for the new processor should be applied.

We are running z/OS 1.8. Or disaster recovery site is upgrading to a z10 or some sort. There are apparently PTFs needed to run z/OS 1.8 on a z10. Are these PTFs still __required__ if z/OS is running under z/VM? -- John ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
