Thanks.  Now I recall hearing something about that change.  

I just checked the 1.9 GRS manual and it isn't listed under "changes".  I took
a brief (and I do mean brief) at the section on designing a ring complex
and did see the note:

   Note:  Global resource serialization ring complexes can contain 
   XCFLOCAL, MONOPLEX, or systems that are part of a multisystem
   sysplex. However, only one multisystem sysplex can exist in any
   global resource serialization complex.


But prior to 1.9 you could do it with GRS Ring.

Not sure what PDSE has to do with it.  The CDS is not a PDSE (although
this thread started taking about something different).   It is protected
via reserve, so it really doesn't take a lot of planning or considerations
other than making sure you let the reserve happen from each system or
complex accessing the data set.

The OP never responded back if the LIBSTATION ENQ was also issued
with RESERVE.
