The following scenario: z196, 7 CPs, 1 zIIP, several LPARs. On the HMC, in the Activation profiles (LPAR profile) each LPAR is defined in the same way, that means each LPAR has assigned 16 CPs, 4 zIIPs, 4 zAAPs. I mean total: initial (existing) + reserved processors. Obviously (no zAAP) number of initial zAAPs is zero, a4 reserved. Example: LPAR1 (Initial + Reserved) CPs 4+11 zAAPs 0+4 zIIPs 1+3 Note, some LPARs have assingned 6+10 CPs, the other 1+15 CPs. (I hope the above is clear, if not please tell me) Now the problem: The order of processors is vayring across the LPARs. D M=CPU shows: 00 - 01 + 02 + 03 + 04 + 05 +I 06 - 07 + 08 N 09 N 0A N 0B N 0C N 0D N 0E N 0F N 10 N 11 NI 12 NI 13 NI 14 NA 15 NA 16 NA 17 NA Note, the +I is number 05, while on another LPAR it's 02. It doesn't make any sense, the order of zIIP has no relationship to number of CPs online, or anything else. On z10 and older machines the order of processors looked always in the following way: ID CPU 00 + 01 - 02 - 03 - 04 - 05 - 06 N 07 N 08 N 09 N 0A N 0B N 0C N 0D N 0E N 0F N 10 -I 11 NI 12 NI 13 NI 14 NA 15 NA 16 NA 17 NA Note, the zIIP is always after all (Initial+Reserved) CPs. The number of every processor was predictable. Q: Is it bug or feature? Can it be fixed?
