Make sure you have an odd number of twists in between the two CEC's. Each jumper cable counts as one twist. If you're connected via dark fiber then make sure that has a twist in the path. If you can't change the ends of the dark fiber you might be able to separate one end of an LC jumper cable so that you can make a straight thru cable.
Jumper 1 - CPC to front of patch panel connection via jumper cable = 1 twist Dark Fiber - Back of patch panel to back of patch panel = 1 twist Jumper 2 - Front of patch panel to second CPC = 1 twist In summary if your dark fiber doesn't have a twist that 2 twists, and you need an odd amount. So either swap the A/B ends on the dark fiber or on one of the jumper cables. The weird part is, the new system can see both the local (itself) and connecting system (production) but the current system running production can only see the connecting system but not itself. I've verified the IOCDS and also sent it to IBM to make sure I'm not missing something. They have found nothing wrong after checking the SE log and the IOCDS from both machines. When I display the channel on any running lpar (D M=CHP(xx)), I receive physical - not operational logical - online. I"ve taken the channels offline via MVS commands on all active lpars as well as the CFs and then brought them back online but it still won't give me a physical online. I'm at a total loss as to where to go or what to do to fix this issue.
