This answer shows why I believe someone should have had their head handed to them in the design of PDSE. That a basic data type - library isn't available at NIP is absurd and in my eyes makes PDSe not completely ready for prime time. This was like the mal-design of local SNA devices 327xs not being usable as console devices forcing my shop to have 2 non-SNA 3x74s for redundancy in the 1980s.
