While I cringe at "a REXX" or "a software", "an EXEC" doesn't bother me. I'm not sure why.
Saying "a CLIST" is perfectly reasonable if you know that the name refers too a command list. Does anybody in VM land say "a REXX"? -- Shmuel (Seymour J.)
