Few words of explanation:
I asked because I need to compress old PROCLIB PDS. Yes, without IPL.
No, JCLLIB is not an option, because the proclib is used mostly for started tasks. And it is already fragmented. In fact I did compress PROCLIBs, but now it is production system, so I prefer to be safe.

Dynamic proclib (unfortunately it is not my case) is somehow a proof that JES2 does not keep all the directories in memory. Theoretically one could remove some PDS, compress it and re-add it to concatenation.

It seems $T PROCLIB with no parms is good idea after the compress operation.
