BTW: I did quick research and they say IBM offer cloud solutions instead. Seems nothing new, but... the cloud *won't be based on System Z hardware*. It will be emulation under Linux.

What does it mean?
1. zPDT (or whatever name) will still be developed by IBM, just only for internal purposes (the cloud). 2. No longer Internet-isolated development. Not IBM problem, IMHO not a problem at all. 3. Emulation under Linux could mean IBM cannot/does not want/consider as too costly the native solution in the cloud. I vaguely guess it may be related to the cloud "knobs and switches", that means customer self-service interface for deployment.
