If you DFSMSdss DUMP (or FDR), TRS and FTP your Datasets to the new
mainframe, what is the benefit of this?
(That is, manually recreating these Datasets should not be necessary.)
Please post the code.

retrieve dataset allocation information and create the jcl to recreate it.
The trick is to run ftp on the local host and using CD and DIR commands.
The output is written to dataset allocated to OUTPUT dd.
