All utilities (e.g. REPRO, IEBGENER, ADRDSSU, ...) handle multivolume datasets without a problem. How you copy it depends upon your situation. Cylinders needed for the copy, Free space on shared dasd and free space on LPAR2 unshared dasd? Will the dataset fit on 3 volumes instead of 15? Must the dataset be on 15 volumes? If you have plenty of space on 3 shared volumes, then use ADRDSSU or DEFINE / REPRO. If you don't have enough shared space or it must be on 15 volumes for some reason, then use ADRDSSU logical backup with compression to the shared dasd. On LPAR2 restore the backup to unshared dasd. If you don't have enough shared space for the compressed backup, then FTP the compressed backup to LPAR2. Alternatively, export the dataset, FTP it to LPAR2 and import it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
