Pete, According to the IMS Manuals, DFSMRCL0 is no longer needed from IMS V9 and above.
One of his comments was an IMS V8 system may be running. Therefore, he may still need to include the DFSMRCL0 usermod, even though that version of IMS is no longer supported as of 2008; along with the other versions he mentioned (V9 and V10). So, if that is true, it is likely that he will need to install the IMS DFSMRCL0 into that LPAR for support of IMS V8 only. When running with IMS V8 under z/OS V2.1 with the DFSMRCL0 module - it may be problematic to get support on some issues. I would think that he needs to update his IMS versions or run the risk of problems with z/OS V2.1 that will be difficult to resolve. As we all know, things will run unsupported until they break. And when they break it will be too late to do a gentle upgrade.
