Don't you do a System Reset??? Look at the instructions of IXC102A, or chapter in Upsetting a sysplex;-): 8.9 Removing a system from the Sysplex.

When we IPL, we just bring everything down as noted and then do the load. The LPAR gets removed and reconnected to the plex and all seems to work well. We've never done the V XCF command. Assuming that you have brought the system down in a clean way (stopped all subsystems, etc..), It sounds like a trouble to get on a local terminal or HMC to issue the V XCF, OFFLINE to vary itself down. Issueing V XCF, OFFLINE results in message IXC371D anyway. Much easier to just issue the command on another system of that sysplex and replying at IXC371D to vary the system out of the sysplex. Again, I personally can not come up with a reason why this is done normally.
