While you're at it would you like to suggest they add an exit point so that data out of UNPACK could be passed record-by-record to e.g. a filter - for those who don't have BatchPipeWorks or for whom the target data is VBS?
The point would be to cut disk space for UNTERSEd data as well as a processing pass. Customers send me gigabytes of SMF, of course. (Motivated to write (sample) assembler code for that eventuality.) Please review it and if you agree vote for it. (Of course I would not object if they changed AMATERSE so that a PACK of a PDSE containing Program Objects can be UNPACKed as a solution) Link I have been given is http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=69338 regards, Anthony Fletcher From: Timothy Sipples/Singapore/IBM@IBMSG To: [email protected] Date: 09/04/2015 19:13 Subject: Re: AMATERSE and PDSE ? Sent by: IBM Mainframe Discussion List <[email protected]> There have been a couple interesting (to me at least) suggestions to improve TERSE. As a gentle reminder, please spend just a few minutes entering your suggestions into IBM RFE: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe You may not get the improvements you'd like unless you ask, and that's the way to ask IBM. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy Sipples IT Architect Executive, Industry Solutions, IBM z Systems, AP/GCG/MEA E-Mail: [email protected] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN Unless stated otherwise above: IBM United Kingdom Limited - Registered in England and Wales with number 741598.
