I suggest that posters remember that mentioning an abend code without the associated reason code (when there is one, or reg 15) can be close to useless. This is especially true for completion codes such as 0E0.
If that info is not directly available, then perhaps a question can be "how do I find out the abend reg 15 value or reason code" (I do not know the answer for REXX). A frequent reason for abend 106 is that extents of a load library have grown after it was opened. But that seems not to be the case here. The OP guessed that it was due to lack of storage. That is certainly possible.
