We got a bill when we ordered the ServPac. Our last upgrade came on a bunch of CDs (or DVDs?) and we had to customize it every step of the way before we could IPL. The upgrade before that we downloaded through the internet and after some initial wrangling with the JCL/loads, we put down and IPLable system. I have to believe IBM charges for that.

SERVPAC are a real PITA. I had some run ins with level 2 and were gotten around with my interpretations and knowledge rather than follow their instructions. Plus I found SEVPAC needed to be baby sitted (sp?) after the instaall. CBPDO in my opinion is the ONLY way to go.
