You may like to look at ImageFocus from Newera. It has more bells & whistles than just a syntax checker. However it is not a no-cost option!

If you have, say 10 groups of members each with their own unique syntax, you may need about 10 checkers *if they're available and useful*. In fact, the OP asked for a [* I believe a 'general' *] syntax checker, perhaps in a isredit macro format. AFAIK - there is no such thing, unless it was developed by someone or a vendor and we don't just know about it. I see from this thread - there are various syntax checkers (vendor supplied, IBM supplied, HILITE function, REXX/Assembler programs, custom written utilities, freebies, console commands, IEIBALL, etc.), but ... ... all of them are only for specific members they're intended to work on. IEIBALL? Hmmm, you have to provide your own IEIBALL or use a second set from your friend - no vendors available. ;-D Groete / Greetings Elardus Engelbrecht ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN This e-mail and any attachments are confidential and intended solely for the addressee and may also be privileged or exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
