There are two different collections. Perhaps one of the IBM contributors can explain why that is. SK4T-4949 includes a readme.txt file that says to launch index.htm in a browser. As far as I see, this collection does not contain any .idx files. This looks better to me than what you get with pdfindex.htm. SC27-8430 has a file called z_OS V2R2 PDF Collection Acrobat Index.pdx. Open this with Adobe Reader. A window will open asking if it's ok to access files on your hard drive. Tell it that is and you will be able to search. I assume, but do not know, that the .idx files are used by Acrobat for the search. I've downloaded both collections because they are useful in different ways.
