[External Email] I've just installed 2.3 and neither of those 2 DLIB datasets ended up on a target volume. Mind you I had to do a lot of manipulation of the dataset groups. Life would be so much easier with model 9s or 27s! SYS1.AUADS is missing here as well. Checking back, it doesn't exist in our 2.1 or 2.2 systems either. I'd be surprised if maintenance was ever applied to UADS, in fact on most of our supported systems the catalogued UADS is not on the sysres and is not the SMPE managed one. And SYS1.AUADS is in SMPE, but it is completely missing, even from the RESTORE job. (No, I did not modify them in the 'modify the layout' dialog!) So my first question is: Can I just carry forward the z/OS 2.1 SYS1.AUADS? Or would that be causing problems down the line? Is there ever maintenance applied to SYS1.UADS? And a second question: Is there a way to get the dialogs to restore everything uncatalogued to my target and dlib volume? I see that I can specify a volume parm where the archive is to be allocated, but don't know if that would collide with ENQs on same named active datasets (on a different volume).
