The mechanics of base z/OS skills have gotten much easier, amazingly so thinking back to the 1970's when releases and PTF's arrived by tape and SMPE was new. So, the basics are easier, and if you used Internet delivery, and installed OMVS and Communications server to include TCPIP with 1.13 you should be still fairly prepared.
I would get ahold of the most current ServerPac Installing your order, Using the Installation Dialog, and Migration manuals and start reading. A lot depends upon what the new site is looking for. Do their needs match your skills? Be up front about what you can and cannot offer. If they want experience and current skills they are likely to have to do a lot of looking. That combination is getting rare. If they take you on, make it clear that you will get up to speed asap and invest some of your own time. Much depends upon your fellow workers who should be supportive and willing to work with you. Good luck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
