Peter,

I think that Stephen is right, contact Hitachi and make sure that the
drives are set up for mainframe opsys's. When we went from a Shark to
EMC, the EMC Techs did a lot to get the disks recognized by VM & VSE. I
would hold them to the task until such time as you have operable disks.
