Thanks, Alan Maybe what I'm attempting can't be done without bouncing TCPIP or IPL'ing the system. I got this error:

HCPSWU2830I DTCVSW1 is VSWITCH controller for device 2708.P00. HCPSWU2833E Error 'E00A'X adding IP address 10.8.190.2 for VSWITCH SYSTEM VSWITCH1. HCPSWU2833E IP address is already in use on the LAN. I switched things back to 1E08
