Comment #14 on issue 526 by patrick.kasperczyk: Dead keys (^`~ etc) don't
work in XIM programs
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=526
Update on the behaviour of my box.
Running Gentoo with KDE 4.3.5, and here's a detail of the relevant ibus
packages that
are installed on my box:
app-i18n/ibus 1.3.0
app-i18n/ibus-m17n 1.2.99.20100202
app-i18n/ibus-pinyin 1.2.99.20100318
app-i18n/ibus-qt 1.2.0.20091217
app-i18n/ibus-table 1.2.0.20100111
My system locale is LANG=en_US.UTF-8.
I need US qwerty, French azerty (with dead keys), and Chinese input.
Dead keys DO NOT WORK in OpenOffice. If I want to type them, I'll need to
input them
through ibus with the m17n package. It would be great it this could be
fixed.
Dead keys DO WORK in Firefox/Thunderbird. Dead keys DO WORK in all KDE
programs.
However, I have a quite annoying problem: sometimes, after switching from a
window to
another, it will be impossible to input anything: keyboard won't answer,
and ibus
says there's "No input window". This reminds me of a recurrent problem that
existed
with scim.
Switching windows, playing around with right-click mouse button menus,
focusing in
another text box then going back to the one I want to type in sort of goes
around the
problem.
Same behaviour with ibus 1.1 or 1.2..
Thank you!
