Comment #11 on issue 526 by mpalomas: Dead keys (^`~ etc) don't work in XIM
programs
http://code.google.com/p/ibus/issues/detail?id=526
I am facing this very same issue with a french keyboard layout on Ubuntu
10.04 beta1,
and also with 9.10.
I write LaTeX documents using tools such as Texmaker, Kile, or Lyx (so all
are Qt
based applications), and since i activated ibus, it is not possible to type
accentuated characters anymore such as ê, all i get is ^e ...
What is strange is that for instance Gedit, a GTK2 base app, is working
pretty well
without this issue, i can switch between french, japanese and english and
all my
accentuated charaters are there.
Sorry i do not know how i can provide you more usefull information such as
keyboard
layout or ibus version or whatever, but if you need it, tell me how and i
will do my
best.
Actually i would say this is quite critical for a lot of european languages
