If you don't install im-ibus.so, GTK applications won't enable ibus.
It's an expected result. I think im-ibus.so is installed by default in ibus
git HEAD.

I don't think your qt applications works properly without ibus-qt as it
might use ibus-x11 instead.
All of your problems would not be upstream. Please talk with your
distribution.
