Yes, I have "ibus-daemon --daemonize xim" option.
I'm doing this:
$ od -x
Ctrl+Shift+U 2580 Space Ctrl+Shift+U 2581 Space Enter
^D
0000000 96e2 0a81
0000004
$
At 2580 (or 2588) simply the character disappears, as if entering a hex
codepoint was cancelled.
