I am also a new owner of a 1987 C27 with a Universal M-18 with the Hurth HBW-50
tranny, according to the service link Bill provided. The service link provides
AT fluid quantity information, and for this tranny, it list .29 quarts. I
calculate that at 9.28 ounces. The amount in the reply from sleepbod suggests
1.3 pints, which equates to 20.8 ounces. This is too large a difference to
ignore. Is there any reason to doubt the manual? Is my math wrong? More
information would be appreciated. I plan on changing the AT fluid this
weekend, so I have not yet done the dipstick test as most of you have. How
much fluid goes in there????
