My c27 was the first sailboat I owned personally with a gas engine. The family
had a Catalina 30, Tayana 37 and a Dana 24 all with diesel engines.

I do have to say that the Atomic 4 has been a absolute gem. When I got the boat
I installed an oil filter, pcv system, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump
and rebuilt the carb. The engine has run great with good power and decent
economy. There is no gasoline smell nor any problems with fumes.

I did find that as I worked on it the one time I had to clean a piece of debris
out of the fuel system the gasoline smell was far less invasive than the times
we had to crack into the fuel system on the diesels.

Thanks Joe
When I lived in NJ I owned a Morgan 34 that had the A4 repowered with the
universal diesel. I like diesels not much gas. I don't mind the smell of diesel
fuel but don't like gas fumes. That is my only real concern owning this boat.
Any good way not to smell gas?
